Circle Theatre and IGNITE partner to promote women in politics!

For our production of Lauren Gunderson’s all female “power-play,” The Taming, Circle Theatre has teamed up with Ignite National!

IGNITE Texas is the state branch of IGNITE National, a non-partisan, 501c3, that builds political ambition in young women. By training high school and college women in civic engagement, leadership skills, activism and community service, IGNITE Texas is preparing the next generation of political leaders. Additionally, their participants engage with local, state and federal elected officials, who mentor them and prepare them to run for office. Ignite Texas participants are civically engaged and prepared to serve their communities in leadership roles.

Women in Politics - IGNITE TCU

“IGNITE Texas is thrilled to partner with Circle Theatre on their presentation of The Taming,” says IGNITE’s State Program Manager, Whitney Harp. “At this historic time in women's political history, it’s refreshing to partake in a comedic presentation of the often overly-dramatic world of politics. In the spirit of women's empowerment, IGNITE Texas is proud to be aligned with a performance that includes an all-female cast, director, and management team. Through the partnership, IGNITE Texas volunteers from the college chapter at Texas Christian University get to share their experiences in the chapter and give back to the Fort Worth community. Community service is one of the core philosophies of IGNITE Texas, and we're glad to serve the community in partnership with Circle Theatre.”
